When someone you know is going for Umrah, the feeling is always a bit emotional. It’s not just another trip. There’s a sense of purpose behind it, and you can feel how special the moment is for them and for everyone around them.
In moments like this, you don’t always need big words or big gestures. Sometimes the most meaningful thing you can give is a sincere dua. Something simple, heartfelt, and honest.
Below are some beautiful duas you can make for someone traveling for Umrah, both in Arabic and English.
For a safe and smooth journey
Allahumma ihfadhhum fi safarihim wa yassir lahum tareeqahum
Meaning:
May Allah protect them on their journey and make everything easy for them.
You never really realize how much someone needs ease until they’re actually traveling, flights, crowds, heat, and long hours of movement. This is a simple dua, but it covers so much.
For their Umrah to be accepted
Allahumma taqabbal umratahum wa ighfir dhunoobahum
Meaning:
May Allah accept their Umrah and forgive their sins.
At the end of the day, this is what every pilgrim is hoping for without even saying it out loud, acceptance and forgiveness.
For ease during every step
Allahumma yassir lahum amrahum wa arzuqhum alraha fi safarihim
Meaning:
May Allah make everything easy for them and grant them comfort throughout their journey.
Umrah can be physically tiring, especially with walking, waiting, and changing routines. Ease is a blessing on its own.
For peace in the heart while in Makkah and Madinah
Allahumma imla quloobahum sakinah wa noor
Meaning:
May Allah fill their hearts with peace and light.
There’s something very emotional about being in Makkah and this dua is about asking Allah to give them that inner calm and true connection.
For forgiveness and a fresh start
Meaning:
May Allah forgive their past and bless what comes next.
A lot of people go to Umrah carrying things in their heart such as regrets, worries, memories. This is a dua for a clean beginning.
For their safe return
Allahumma rudda-hum ilayna salimeen maghfoor lahum maqbooleen
Meaning:
May Allah return them to us safe, forgiven, and accepted.
Farewells before Umrah always carry a quiet hope, that they come back better than they left.
Final thought
Duas are one of the few things that don’t stay where you are, they travel with the person. Through airports, hotels, Masjid al-Haram, and every moment in between.
Sometimes, when someone is on their Umrah journey, your dua might be the quiet support they feel without even realizing it.
May Allah accept every pilgrim’s Umrah, protect them on their journey, ease their steps, and return them home forgiven, peaceful, and full of barakah. - Ameen
